Days 2 & 3: Thorny Bush Lodge

Both Thornybush and Sabi Sand Nature Reserves share a fenceless border with the Kruger National Park. This makes us home to one of the most diverse concentrations of the indigenous game within Southern Africa.Private and stylishly decorated, the Luxury Suites are a joy to spend a night in and difficult to leave. The large windows above the bath and giant sliding doors to the deck offer incredible views of the riverbed and any animals that may be wallowing there. Each of the 16 Luxury Suites have an en-suite bathroom, indoor and outdoor shower and have been carefully designed and spaced to provide privacy. The elegant finishes and extremely comfortable beds complete the impressive rooms.

Days 4, 5 & 6: Saseka Tented Camp

After your last morning Game drive at Thorny Bush Lodge you will return to the lodge for breakfast, pack your bags, freshen up and get ready for your next destination, Saseka Tented Camp.Perched on a bend of the seasonal Monwana River, Saseka Tented Camp is one of the most sought-after luxury safari destinations in the Greater Kruger Park area. Saseka means ‘beautiful’ in the local Tsonga language, and everything here from the tented suites to the relaxed atmosphere, the foodand personal service, is just that. The nine tented suites, with elevated views of the riverbed, are ultra-spacious safari tents on permanent foundations. Glass doors open up onto your own extensive private deck and pool, complete with sun loungers and chairs. In a private corner, there’s also an outdoor shower with bush views.Attention to detail is present wherever you look, a great example of this is the fabric of the interior canvas, designed exclusively for Saseka, with prints from the herbarium in Pretoria of all the region’s plants. The intelligent lighting of the tented suites is also an impressive feature. The suites allow the sounds of the bush to filter in to give you a truly immersed safari experience. From giraffes and zebra, hippos, hyenas, wild dogs, antelope and hundreds of bird species, to name a few, the diversity of wildlife in this area is astounding. You’ll get close to them all with our expert guide-and-tracker teams, who have a deep understanding of the bush and an inherent knack for finding the action in our open-air safari vehicles. In the early evening return to your camp for a dinner under the stars around a blazing fire.
